About Blue Stream Fiber
Blue Stream Fiber is providing a state-of-the-art fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) system in Port St. Lucie, Florida delivering a Quad-Play of High-Speed Internet, Cable TV, Telephone and Security Alarm Monitoring. We have a Cable TV Franchise from the City of Port St Lucie. We picked Port St. Lucie because it is one of the fastest growing communities in the U.S. Port St. Lucie is located about 35 miles north of Palm Beach County.
Blue Stream Fiber is positioned to become a leading fiber-to-the-premises (“FTTP”) system with a packaged offering of services (including cable TV and high-speed Internet). Blue Stream Fiber obtained a Cable TV Franchise and proceeded to construct a multi-million dollar, state-of-the-art Central Office/Headend and fiber-based delivery system in Port St. Lucie. The Company’s facility is located in the middle of 50,000 acres of developable land. To date, Blue Stream Fiber has contracts to provide cable TV, high-speed Internet, and security alarm monitoring service to approximately 30,000 existing and future customers in several master-planned communities in the Port St. Lucie area and also serves individual customers.
FTTP provides increased bandwidth to each home, which is capable of delivering hundreds of television channels. In addition to this broadband delivery capacity, FTTP provides greater system reliability and expandability, lower maintenance costs and longer life cycles than coaxial or “fiber-to-the-curb”-based systems.
Blue Stream Fiber provides basic cable television and high-speed Internet, and provides additional services including, but not limited to, Telephone, T-1 connectivity, Pay TV (HBO, Showtime, etc.), additional tiers of cable TV programming services, interactive services, and video-on-demand (“VOD”) to residential and commercial customers.
The founders of Blue Stream Fiber, Mitchell Rubenstein and Laurie Silvers, have extensive experience in media and Internet businesses. Rubenstein and Silvers founded the Syfy Channel (which they sold to USA Network and is now owned by NBCUniversal). Rubenstein and Silvers founded Flagship Cable Partners, which provided cable television service in Palm Beach County, FL. Rubenstein and Silvers currently own a controlling interest in one of the largest radio station groups in South Florida, Treasure & Space Coast Radio, which serves the area between Palm Beach County and Orlando, within which area is Port St. Lucie. The radio stations in this group are WOSN-FM (“97.1 Ocean”), WGYL-FM (“93.7 The Breeze”), WJKD-FM (“99.7 Jack”), WPHR-FM (“94.7 Hot Country”), and WTTB-AM (1490 AM).
Laurie Silvers’ community involvement includes: University of Miami Board of Trustees (member of its Executive Committee and Chair of its Academic Affairs Committee); Past Chair, Board of Directors of the Economic Council of Palm Beach County; Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts; currently, Co-Chair of South Florida PBS which owns WPBT-TV (the Miami PBS Station) and WXEL-TV (the PBS Station for Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast); and she is a Women of Tomorrow Mentor to at-risk high school girls, an organization where Silvers is also a member of its Board. Scanning for Channels
Please note: All TV manufacturers differ, so menu options, wording and other items may vary. The best way to complete the channel scan is to refer to the TV owner’s manual. If that is unavailable, the following general steps should guide you through the process.
- Using your television’s remote control, press the Menu or Settings option.
Note: a “Smart TV” may have a smart button that must be used to access the settings menu. It will generally have the manufacturer’s logo on it.
- Locate Channels or Tuner Set Up option.
- Check the menu for an option of Antenna Type or Connection Type followed by either Antenna or Cable.
- Make sure that the designated setting is Cable (based on manufacturer, alternate choices may include Digital Cable, CATV or Cable STD)
- From the menu, choose Digital Channel Search (based on manufacturer, alternate choices may include Channel Scan, Channel Search or Autoprogram.)
- Allow the TV to complete the search. You will see a bar listing how many channels have been found. The process may take up to an hour.
- Once complete, confirm the menu prompt, then press an exit or quit option.
