High Speed Wireless Internet for Rural Ryedale
High Speed Broadband for Home and Business Users
There are many reasons why Ryedale is a great place to live but unfortunately, for many rural residents, fast Internet is not one of them. Internet speeds required to stream video, play games, work from home and even shop online are not achievable using telephone network due to the long distances involved.
At Beeline Broadband we have a solution: a fast, reliable wireless broadband network covering much of the area between York and Scarborough. If you are struggling to achieve more than a couple of Mbps with your current connection, the chances are that we can vastly improve that.
We offer connection speeds ranging from 10 Mbps to 40 Mbps, starting at £24.00 per month including VAT.
Get More From the Internet with Fast Broadband
You can use your fast broadband connection in even more ways than you might think. Here are some examples:
Watch BBC iPlayer, Netflix, YouTube and other catch-up and on-demand video services.
Improve your skills in multiplayer online games on your PlayStation, XBox or PC.
Faster browsing makes online shopping easier and more enjoyable. Improve your odds of winning eBay auctions.
Stream music from Spotify, Deezer, iPlayer Radio, Apple Music and other streaming services.
If you use a syncing service such as iCloud you will notice how much more quickly and effortlessly your devices sync photos, videos and documents amongst themselves.
Work from home by connecting to your employer’s VPN, using remote desktop sessions, and participating in video conferences.
Boost Your Mobile Phone Signal
Fast broadband opens up the possibility of improving your mobile phone signal through the use of a booster (femtocell) device. Another option is Wi-Fi Calling, if you have the right mobile phone and your provider supports it. Check the details with your mobile phone provider or ask us for advice.
Replace Your Landline
If you want to ditch BT completely, you can even use a landline phone on your broadband connection by using an Analogue Telephone Adapter along with a VOIP (voice over IP) provider such as Vonage or sipgate. There’s no line rental and you’ll get a geographical phone number just like a conventional phone line. Ask us for details.
We are part of the SFNY Superfast North Yorkshire project and are pleased to offer a choice of high-speed wireless Internet services to homes and businesses in North-East Ryedale. All our residential packages are very affordable and payment is by automatic monthly Direct Debit in advance on the first day of each month. We offer a 3-day fault response and no cancellation fees.
Our premium packages offer increased speed and Fair Usage allowances and you can upgrade your package at any time. We allow up to two downgrades per year if desired. Our packages are ‘Unlimited’ usage, but if your usage significantly exceeds our Fair Usage Policy guidelines for several consecutive months then we will get in touch to discuss your package and most likely suggest that you might like to upgrade.
For Business and Heavy Users
Our business packages are well-suited to small and medium-sized businesses or homeworkers who have a critical need for a fast and reliable broadband connection. Business customers enjoy a one-day fault response during working hours and a static IP address.
Unlike many competitor offerings, our upload speeds are comparable to the download speeds. Payment is by Direct Debit and there is no minimum contract length or cancellation fee.
In contrast to our residential packages, our business services are sold primarily on the basis of traffic usage and we are pleased to say that our usage allowances are among the most generous in the industry. You can upgrade your package at any time, and we allow up to two downgrades per year if desired. If you ever use your monthly allowance up, our system will automatically reduce your speed back to 5 Mbps so you will never be without Internet no matter how much you use it.
Many small offices choose to start on our basic B10 package which comes with a 100 GB (gigabytes) monthly usage allowance at a speed of 10 Mbps (megabits per second). If heavy usage is expected, then our B10+ package offers three times the allowance, or the B10XL boasts half a terabyte. Where higher speeds are desirable, we offer faster B20 and B30 versions which are 20 and 30 Mbps respectively.
Our network covers many locations and villages in and to the south of the North York Moors. In fact, it spans an area similar to that within the M25 motorway. Despite this, because of the nature of radio connections there will be areas which are not yet able to receive our signal.
Therefore we invite potential new customers to contact us in the first instance mentioning their full address so that we can gauge the likelihood of being able to provide a connection. We can give an initial prognosis based on the results of our mapping and link simulation software. On the arranged day of connection, we always do a signal survey prior to equipment installation and if the signal strength is lower than required then we would cancel the installation at no cost to you.
Back in 2004, residents in the two small rural villages of Newton-on-Rawcliffe and Stape in North Yorkshire were struggling with dial-up Internet access. A semi-retired engineer and enthusiastic radio amateur called Billy Garrett moved to Newton and greatly improved the situation for the benefit of himself and his neighbours through the use of an experimental outdoor Wi-Fi system.
Word spread and gradually the multi-megabit network grew to include about 25 homes on the edge of the North York Moors whilst many homes in towns such as Pickering were getting less than one megabit per second! Run as an affordable “community network”, the wireless radio signal was often bounced from property to property to achieve best signal coverage and thus one neighbour was able to help another. Clearly the formula was a winner, customers were delighted and Beeline Broadband Ltd was formed.
Fast forward to today and Beeline continues to provides high speed wireless Internet to many homes and businesses in the area which would otherwise have been left behind by the “digital revolution”. We can provide reliable symmetric connections of up to 40 Mbps enabling both rural and town-based customers to communicate with friends, shop online, watch YouTube / BBC iPlayer, play online games and work from home.
